
Sterile Processing Technician, Certified
At Duke University Health System, we are looking for an experienced and certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. This position is integral to our mission, as the Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety and sterility of our medical instruments. In this role, you will be responsible for decontaminating, sterilizing, and storing medical instruments and implants while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about healthcare and patient safety, and has the qualifications to back it up. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician, and certification from a certified program in sterile processing technology is required. Additionally, the successful candidate must have strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Decontaminate, sterilize, and store medical instruments and implants.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards related to sterile processing.
- Maintain a safe and sterile environment in accordance with established safety protocols.
- Follow all safety protocols when handling and disposing of medical instruments and implants.
- Maintain accurate records and logs related to the sterilization process.
- Ensure the quality of sterilized instruments and implants before they are used in patient care.
- Assist in the inventory of sterilized instruments and implants.
- Follow all policies and procedures related to the safe handling and disposal of medical instruments and implants.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to ensure sterility of instruments and implants.
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve any sterilization problems that arise.
