Job Description

We are seeking a Washington Reporter, Justice at The Enterprise who is passionate about reporting and has an eye for detail. The successful candidate will be an experienced journalist with a proven track record of delivering high-quality, accurate, and timely stories on the complex issues facing the justice system within Washington state. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the justice system, be able to collaborate with other reporters and editors, think analytically, and have a strong sense of responsibility. This position will require a driven, ambitious journalist who is committed to telling stories that matter and making an impact.

Responsibilities:

  1. Research and report on complex issues related to the justice system in Washington state.
  2. Generate story ideas and develop sources to acquire relevant information.
  3. Write accurate and timely stories that reflect high-quality standards.
  4. Collaborate with other reporters and editors to ensure accuracy of all stories.
  5. Work with editors to ensure stories meet deadlines.
  6. Present stories to management for approval.
  7. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the justice system in Washington state.
  8. Utilize data and analytics to inform stories.
  9. Provide feedback and input to other reporters and editors.
  10. Utilize social media to share stories and engage with readers.
