
Sterile Processing Technician
MercyOne is looking for an experienced and reliable Sterile Processing Technician to join our team and provide exceptional care to our patients. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of equipment and instruments used in surgical procedures. To be successful in this role, you must have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work well independently. Your commitment to safety and quality assurance will help ensure that our patients receive the best care possible.The ideal candidate for this position should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of one year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician. Certification from the National Alliance of Sterile Processing Technician (NASPT) is preferred but not required. In addition, the successful candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Decontaminate and sterilize equipment and instruments used in surgical procedures.
- Ensure quality assurance and patient safety in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all sterilization processes.
- Assist in the assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of surgical instruments.
- Maintain a sterile processing area which is organized, clean, and compliant with safety regulations.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of sterile supplies.
- Assist in the training of new staff in sterile processing techniques.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
- Communicate effectively with other members of the healthcare team.
