Coverage Specialist

Reviews assigned claims files, determines coverage questions and plans investigations in order to reach resolution. Investigates claims by obtaining recorded statements from insureds, claimants, registered owners and producers; obtains additional documentation and pertinent information as necessary, such as, police reports, rental contracts, bill of sale, driver and motor vehicle reports, etc. Reviews the corresponding underwriting file to determine the terms of the policy, status of account and billing cycle. Prepares summary of investigation information; refers files to house counsel for final determination of coverage. Maintains correspondence with interested parties to advise of status of coverage investigation, possible legal complications, acceptance or denial of coverage, and related information. Maintains diary of claims pending and updates file information as necessary; continually reviews and monitors progress of claims pending in order to ensure a timely coverage determination.
