Assistant Civil Engineer
Prepares, designs, and/or evaluates preliminary and final plans, contract specifications and presentations for a variety of City public works and private development projects. Submits projects for competitive bid; prepares, reviews and analyzes bid documents; award construction contracts; schedules and attends pre-construction meetings. Reviews public and private development submittals for compliance with state and local regulations and specifications. Monitors compliance of City public works operations with applicable regulatory agency requirements. Verifies, maintains records, files and prepares comprehensive technical reports related to assignments. Negotiate fees and determine the scope of work for complex engineering services contracts. Provides training and/or technical assistance to support staff.
One year of civil engineering experience is highly desirable
Municipal experience involving public works projects preferred
