- Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance on campus buildings and facilities.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing issues.
- Install and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Conduct regular inspections of plumbing systems and identify potential problems.
- Respond promptly to plumbing emergencies and resolve them efficiently.
- Collaborate with other members of the Facilities team to prioritize and complete tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other campus staff.
- Continuously seek ways to improve and optimize plumbing systems and processes.
- Keep up-to-date with industry advancements and incorporate them into work practices.
- Provide exceptional customer service to campus staff, faculty, and students.
- Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours emergency plumbing services.
- Manage inventory and order necessary supplies for plumbing projects.
- Train and mentor junior plumbers or apprentices, as needed.
- Adhere to Caltech's policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Attend meetings and trainings as required.
- Represent Caltech in a professional and positive manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In The Plumbing Field, Preferably In A Commercial Or Institutional Setting.
Knowledge Of Local And State Plumbing Codes And Regulations.
Ability To Read And Interpret Blueprints And Technical Diagrams.
Familiarity With A Wide Range Of Plumbing Systems, Including Water Supply, Drainage, And Gas Lines.
Excellent Problem-Solving Skills And The Ability To Work Independently And In A Team Setting.
