
Assistant Brewer

- Assist Head Brewer in all aspects of the brewing process, including but not limited to recipe development, brewing, fermentation, and packaging.
- Maintain a clean and organized brewing area, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and maintained.
- Monitor and record all necessary data throughout the brewing process, including temperature, gravity, pH levels, and ingredient inventory.
- Collaborate with the brewing team to develop new and innovative beer recipes that align with BJ's brand and appeal to our guests.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure consistency in taste, aroma, and appearance of all beers.
- Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of brewing equipment to ensure efficient operation.
- Follow all safety protocols and adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
- Continuously monitor industry trends and stay updated on new brewing techniques and ingredients.
- Participate in brewery tours and events to educate guests on the brewing process and BJ's beer offerings.
- Support the Head Brewer in training and mentoring new brewing team members.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as the kitchen and marketing, to create beer and food pairings and promote BJ's beer offerings.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times, representing BJ's brand and values.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding brewing and alcohol production.
- Work closely with the Head Brewer to develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and quality in all beer produced.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of brewing supplies as needed.
Knowledge Of Brewing Process: Assistant Brewers Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Brewing Process, Including The Equipment And Ingredients Involved.
Experience In Craft Brewing: Previous Experience In A Craft Brewery Or Home Brewing Is Preferred, As It Demonstrates A Passion And Knowledge For Beer Making.
Physical Stamina: Brewing Is A Physically Demanding Job, Often Requiring Long Hours On Your Feet And The Ability To Lift Heavy Bags Of Ingredients.
Attention To Detail: Brewing Requires Precise Measurements And Timing, So Assistant Brewers Must Have Strong Attention To Detail To Ensure Consistent And Quality Beer Production.
Team Player: Assistant Brewers Work Closely With The Head Brewer And Other Team Members, So The Ability To Collaborate And Communicate Effectively Is Essential For Success In This Role.
