- Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure reliability and scalability strategies and best practices.
- Monitor and analyze system performance to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new cloud-based solutions.
- Conduct regular system audits and implement improvements to optimize performance and reduce downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any system or application issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Continuously enhance and automate processes to improve system reliability and efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in cloud technology to provide innovative solutions for the company.
- Communicate system status, issues, and resolutions to stakeholders and leadership.
- Train and mentor junior team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Participate in on-call rotation and act as a subject matter expert for critical incidents.
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure the smooth operation of cloud infrastructure.
- Adhere to security and compliance standards and implement necessary controls to protect company data.
- Proactively identify and address potential risks and vulnerabilities in the cloud environment.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Continuously review and improve processes and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Extensive Experience With Cloud Technologies: A Sr. Site Reliability Engineer At Abbott Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Cloud Computing And Be Proficient In Various Cloud Platforms Such As Aws, Azure, And Google Cloud. They Should Also Have Experience In Deploying And Managing Applications In A Cloud Environment.
Strong Programming And Scripting Skills: As A Senior Engineer, The Candidate Should Possess Strong Programming Skills In Languages Such As Python, Java, Or Go. They Should Also Have Experience With Automation And Configuration Management Tools Like Ansible, Puppet, Or Chef.
Knowledge Of Devops Principles: Site Reliability Engineering (Sre) Is Closely Tied To Devops, And A Sr. Sre At Abbott Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Devops Principles And Practices. This Includes Continuous Integration And Delivery, Infrastructure As Code, And Collaboration Between Development And Operations Teams.
Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills: A Sr. Sre At Abbott Should Be Able To Quickly Identify And Resolve Complex Technical Issues In A Production Environment. They Should Have A Strong Understanding Of System Architecture And Be Able To Troubleshoot Issues At Both The Application And Infrastructure Level.
Strong Communication And Leadership Skills: As A Senior Member Of The Team, The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication Skills And Be Able To Effectively Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams. They Should Also Have Experience Leading And Mentoring Junior Engineers And Be Able To Provide Technical Guidance And Direction To The Team.
