- Analyze and evaluate current production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality.

- Develop and maintain process control systems to ensure consistent and high-quality production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and improvements.

- Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Train and mentor production personnel on new processes and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all process engineering activities.
- Communicate with suppliers and vendors to identify and evaluate new materials and equipment for potential use in processes.
- Participate in cost reduction initiatives by identifying and implementing process improvements that reduce waste and increase efficiency.
- Collaborate with other engineers and departments to develop and implement new production processes and procedures.
- Conduct regular process audits and make recommendations for corrective actions.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate process performance and make adjustments as necessary to achieve production goals.
- Represent the company in meetings with customers and suppliers to discuss process improvements and resolve any issues that may arise.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree In Engineering: A Process Engineer At United States Steel Must Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Engineering, Preferably In Industrial, Mechanical, Or Metallurgical Engineering. This Educational Background Provides A Solid Foundation In The Principles Of Process Design And Improvement.
Minimum 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Manufacturing/Industrial Setting: United States Steel Requires Candidates To Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Manufacturing Or Industrial Setting. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Understanding Of Complex Processes And Their Ability To Troubleshoot And Optimize Them.
Knowledge Of Process Improvement Methodologies: Process Engineers At United States Steel Must Be Familiar With Various Process Improvement Methodologies, Such As Six Sigma And Lean Manufacturing. These Methodologies Are Crucial For Identifying Areas Of Improvement And Implementing Changes To Increase Efficiency And Productivity.
Strong Analytical Skills: A Successful Process Engineer At United States Steel Must Possess Strong Analytical Skills To Analyze Data And Make Informed Decisions. This Includes The Ability To Interpret Complex Data, Identify Patterns, And Draw Conclusions To Improve Processes.
