  1. Develop and maintain complex software systems using the RUST programming language.
  2. Lead and mentor a team of software engineers to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of projects.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative solutions that meet the needs of the company and its customers.
  4. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in RUST programming to continuously improve and enhance our software capabilities.
  5. Conduct code reviews and provide guidance and feedback to team members to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  6. Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of software systems through rigorous testing and debugging.
  7. Work with product managers to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise to support product development.
  8. Identify and address any technical issues or roadblocks that may arise during the development process.
  9. Participate in the planning and execution of software development projects, including defining project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  10. Act as a subject matter expert on RUST programming language and provide guidance and support to other team members as needed.
  11. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the enhancement of our software development methodologies.
  12. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide project updates and address any concerns or issues.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience With Rust Programming Language: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Deep Understanding And Mastery Of The Rust Programming Language. They Should Be Able To Write Clean, Efficient, And Scalable Code Using Rust.

  • Strong Background In Software Engineering: A Senior Principal Software Engineer At Rockwell Collins Should Have A Strong Background In Software Engineering Principles And Practices. This Includes Knowledge Of Software Design, Development, Testing, And Maintenance.

  • Experience With Embedded Systems: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Working With Embedded Systems And A Strong Understanding Of Hardware And Software Interactions. This Is Especially Important For Developing Software For Aerospace And Defense Applications.

  • Leadership And Mentoring Skills: As A Senior Member Of The Team, The Candidate Should Possess Strong Leadership And Mentoring Skills. They Should Be Able To Guide And Mentor Junior Engineers, As Well As Collaborate Effectively With Cross-Functional Teams.

  • Problem-Solving And Critical Thinking Abilities: A Senior Principal Software Engineer Should Have Excellent Problem-Solving And Critical Thinking Skills. They Should Be Able To Analyze Complex Problems, Identify Potential Solutions, And Make Sound Decisions To Achieve Project Goals.
