- Conduct pre-operative evaluations for patients seeking bariatric surgery.
- Collaborate with bariatric surgeons to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Conduct post-operative follow-ups to monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Educate patients on healthy lifestyle habits and provide resources for achieving weight loss goals.
- Stay up-to-date on current bariatric surgery practices and research to ensure evidence-based care.
- Work closely with other members of the bariatric surgery team, including nurses and dietitians, to provide comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families to address any concerns or questions.
- Adhere to all healthcare standards, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their journey towards weight loss.
- Continuously assess and improve upon personal clinical skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with community resources and programs to support patients in achieving long-term weight loss success.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.

- Serve as a patient advocate and ensure their needs and concerns are addressed.
- Attend relevant conferences and workshops to advance knowledge and skills in bariatric surgery.
- Work with insurance companies to obtain necessary approvals for bariatric surgery procedures.

Advanced Degree: A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Nursing Or Physician Assistant Studies Is Required For This Position. Candidates With A Doctor Of Nursing Practice (Dnp) Or Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Degree Will Be Given Preference.
Specialty Certification: Candidates Must Possess A Current And Valid Certification In A Relevant Specialty, Such As Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (Agacnp), Family Nurse Practitioner (Fnp), Or Physician Assistant-Certified (Pa-C). Additional Certification In Bariatric Surgery Or A Related Field Is Highly Desirable.
Clinical Experience: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Relevant Specialty, Preferably In Bariatric Surgery Or A Related Field. This Experience Should Include Direct Patient Care, Assessment, Diagnosis, And Management Of Complex And Chronic Conditions.
Knowledge Of Bariatric Surgery: Candidates Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Bariatric Surgery Procedures, Including Pre-Operative And Post-Operative Care, Nutrition And Weight Management, And Potential Complications. They Should Also Have Knowledge Of The Latest Research And Evidence-Based Practices In The Field.
Communication And Leadership Skills: Advanced Practice Providers In Bariatric Surgery Are Expected To Work Closely With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Surgeons, Dietitians, Psychologists, And Nurses. Strong Communication And Leadership Skills Are Essential For Effective Collaboration And Patient Care. Candidates Should Also Demonstrate A Commitment To Providing Compassionate And Patient-Centered Care.
