- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and healthcare team members.
- Provide comprehensive care and support to patients undergoing bone marrow transplants, including monitoring and managing potential complications and side effects.
- Collaborate with physicians to perform procedures, such as bone marrow biopsies and central line placements.
- Educate patients and their families on the transplant process, potential risks and benefits, and post-transplant care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and medication administration.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and quality care.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices and advancements in bone marrow transplant treatment and care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of protocols and policies for the bone marrow transplant department.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continued personal and professional growth through participation in educational opportunities and professional development activities.
Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Physician Assistant Studies Or Related Field.
Current Certification And Licensure As A Physician Assistant In The State Of New York.
At Least 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In Oncology Or Hematology.
Specific Training Or Experience In Bone Marrow Transplant Procedures And Protocols.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Multidisciplinary Team.
