- Plan and execute a wide range of events, including conferences, seminars, workshops, receptions, and other special events.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to understand their event needs and goals, and develop event strategies to meet those objectives.
- Create detailed event plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring that all aspects of the event are well-organized and within budget.
- Source and negotiate with vendors, such as caterers, venues, and entertainment, to ensure high-quality services at competitive prices.
- Oversee event logistics, including venue set-up, audiovisual equipment, transportation, and accommodations.
- Manage event registration, guest lists, and RSVPs, ensuring accuracy and timely communication with attendees.
- Lead and supervise event staff, including event coordinators and volunteers, to ensure smooth execution of events.
- Develop and implement effective marketing and communication strategies to promote events and increase attendance.
- Monitor and report on event budgets, expenses, and revenue, and make recommendations for cost-saving measures.
- Conduct post-event evaluations and gather feedback to continuously improve event planning processes and procedures.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in event planning and make recommendations for incorporating new ideas and technologies into events.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, sponsors, and other partners to ensure successful collaborations and future event opportunities.
- Uphold Johns Hopkins University's brand and reputation by delivering exceptional events that align with the institution's values and mission.
- Adhere to all relevant legal and safety regulations and protocols during event planning and execution.
- Represent Johns Hopkins University in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Bachelor's Degree In Event Planning, Hospitality Management, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Event Planning, Preferably In A Higher Education Or Non-Profit Setting.
Excellent Organizational And Project Management Skills, With The Ability To Handle Multiple Events Simultaneously.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Internal And External Stakeholders.
