3. Manage a team of professionals responsible for facilities planning, design, and construction, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful execution of projects.
4. Collaborate with various stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students, to understand their needs and incorporate their input into the design and planning process.
5. Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and standards in the design and construction of facilities, including accessibility, safety, and sustainability requirements.
6. Develop and manage budgets for facilities, design, and planning projects, ensuring cost-effective and efficient use of resources.
7. Monitor and evaluate the performance of current facilities and identify opportunities for improvement, enhancement, or expansion to better support the university's mission.
8. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in facilities management, design, and planning, and incorporate them into the university's practices and processes.
9. Foster a culture of innovation and sustainability in all aspects of facilities planning and design, seeking out and implementing new technologies and strategies to reduce the university's environmental footprint.
10. Serve as a liaison between the university and external partners, such as architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors, to ensure smooth and successful project delivery.
11. Communicate effectively with all levels of the university community, providing updates, progress reports, and recommendations on facilities, design, and planning projects.
12. Uphold the university's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of facilities planning, design, and management.
