Brown University Athletics is seeking an enthusiastic Athletics Photography Assistant to join our team and help showcase the excitement of our athletic programs through images. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the fast-paced world of sports photography while working with a talented and dedicated team.   1. Capture high-quality and impactful photographs of Brown University athletic events and athletes.
  2. Work closely with the Athletics Photography Coordinator to identify key moments and develop a shot list for each event.
  3. Ensure all equipment is properly set up and functioning before each event.
  4. Edit and retouch photos to meet the standards and style of Brown University Athletics.
  5. Collaborate with the social media and marketing teams to provide engaging visual content for various platforms.
  6. Maintain a strong understanding of Brown University Athletics' brand and visual guidelines.
  7. Stay up-to-date with current photography trends and techniques to continuously improve the quality of photographs.
  8. Manage and organize a large volume of photos in an efficient and timely manner.
  9. Communicate effectively with coaches, athletes, and other staff members to ensure all photography needs are met.
  10. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while capturing photos during athletic events.
  11. Assist with setting up and breaking down photography equipment before and after events.
  12. Attend regular meetings with the Athletics Photography team to discuss upcoming events and strategies for capturing the best shots.
  13. Take initiative to suggest creative ideas and locations for photo shoots.
  14. Maintain a professional and positive attitude while representing Brown University Athletics.
  15. Be willing to work evenings and weekends, as most athletic events take place during these times.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Photography Equipment: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Photography Equipment, Including Cameras, Lenses, Lighting, And Editing Software.

  • Experience In Sports Photography: Previous Experience In Sports Photography, Particularly In Capturing Fast-Paced Action Shots, Is Required.

  • Strong Organizational Skills: The Candidate Should Have Excellent Organizational Skills To Keep Track Of Schedules, Equipment, And Photo Files.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Athletics Events Can Be Fast-Paced And Unpredictable, So The Candidate Must Be Able To Work Efficiently And Adapt To Changing Situations.

  • Attention To Detail: The Candidate Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Capture Important Moments And Ensure High-Quality, Well-Composed Photos.
