Review supplier quotes and terms. Ensure they meet the requirements of the request. Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best price, quality, and delivery commitments. Place and manage purchase orders and continuously evaluate suppliers’ performance. Ensure placed orders are entered into MRP promptly, for accounting, receiving, quality, delivery and order status purposes. Ensure that all material properly requested on purchasing requisitions are ordered promptly and arrive on time. Proactively maintains all open Purchase Orders including deliver date management, past due purchase orders management and purchase order acknowledgement. Schedule the required builds into the factory, coordinating the builds with the production departments. Actively explore new sources of supply to further improve service, price and availability of needed material. Coordinate and control the arrival of non-inventory materials which have been purchased for upcoming builds.
