  1. Process and sterilize surgical instruments to ensure the safety and quality of patient care.
  2. Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all instrument processing tasks.
  3. Adhere to strict infection control protocols and procedures to prevent the spread of infection.
  4. Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure that all necessary instruments are available for procedures.
  5. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  6. Follow established departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  7. Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals to coordinate instrument processing activities.
  8. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to instrument processing, sterilization, and equipment.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain knowledge of best practices and advancements in instrument processing.
  11. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  12. Adhere to strict confidentiality policies and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  13. Meet productivity and quality standards while working efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Sterilization Experience: Candidates Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of The Sterilization Process And Be Familiar With Various Methods, Such As Steam, Ethylene Oxide, And Hydrogen Peroxide Gas Plasma.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Instruments: A Strong Understanding Of The Different Types Of Medical Instruments, Their Uses, And Proper Handling Techniques Is Essential For This Job.

  • Attention To Detail: Instrument Processing Technicians Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Identify Any Potential Defects Or Issues With Medical Instruments That Could Compromise Patient Safety.

  • Certification: Candidates Should Have A Certification In Sterile Processing, Such As The Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) Or The Certified Sterile Processing And Distribution Technician (Cspdt).

  • Communication Skills: Effective Communication Skills Are Crucial For This Role, As Instrument Processing Technicians Must Work Closely With Nurses, Surgeons, And Other Healthcare Professionals To Ensure That The Right Instruments Are Available For Procedures.
