
Cytotechnologist - Cytology
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Cytotechnologist to join our Cytology team at Mayo Clinic. We are seeking someone with excellent technical skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Our Cytotechnologist will play a key role in our laboratory by preparing cytology specimens, performing microscopic evaluations, and acting as a resource for laboratory personnel. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to providing the highest quality of care.Required qualifications include:• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related degree• Certification by a nationally recognized registry such as the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)• Three to five years of experience as a Cytotechnologist• Strong knowledge of laboratory quality assurance and safety standards• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with all levels of personnel• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environmentIf you have the experience, skills, and enthusiasm necessary to join our team, we welcome your application and look forward to hearing from you.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare cytology specimens for microscopic evaluation
- Perform microscopic evaluations to detect potential abnormalities
- Act as a resource for laboratory personnel
- Ensure laboratory quality assurance and safety standards are met
- Communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
- Prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain and update patient records
- Perform routine laboratory maintenance
- Participate in continuing education courses to stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and developments
- Follow laboratory protocols and safety procedures
