  1. Perform bone density scans on patients using specialized equipment and techniques.
  2. Accurately interpret scan results and provide comprehensive reports to healthcare providers.
  3. Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure accurate and consistent results.
  4. Educate patients on the bone density scan procedure and answer any questions or concerns.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other team members.
  6. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  7. Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  8. Keep accurate and organized records of all scans and reports.
  9. Stay updated on new developments and advancements in bone density technology and procedures.
  10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  11. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to minimize risk of injury to patients and staff.
  12. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
  13. Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  14. Demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients, particularly those who may be experiencing pain or discomfort during the scan.
  15. Follow all Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures to maintain a high standard of patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Certification As A Bone Densitometry Technician Through The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) Or The International Society For Clinical Densitometry (Iscd).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Performing Bone Densitometry Scans In A Clinical Setting.

  • Knowledge Of And Adherence To All Radiation Safety Protocols And Regulations.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Interact With Patients And Healthcare Team Members.

  • Flexibility To Work On-Call Shifts, Including Evenings And Weekends, To Meet The Needs Of The Department And Patients.
