  1. Lead and manage a team of data scientists to evaluate the accuracy and quality of POI data on Apple Maps.
  2. Develop and implement data science strategies and methodologies to improve the overall user experience of Apple Maps.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address data quality issues and improve data accuracy.
  4. Utilize cutting-edge technology and data sets to identify trends and patterns that can inform business decisions.
  5. Use statistical and machine learning techniques to develop predictive models and algorithms.
  6. Analyze large and complex data sets to generate insights and make data-driven recommendations.
  7. Communicate and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data science and technology.
  9. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
  10. Mentor and coach team members to improve their technical skills and business acumen.
  11. Develop and maintain relationships with external data partners and vendors.
  12. Manage project timelines and ensure timely delivery of high-quality results.
  13. Work with data engineers to ensure data quality and integrity.
  14. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  15. Represent the Maps POI Evaluation team in meetings and presentations with other teams and departments within Apple.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Background In Data Science: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Or A Related Field. They Should Also Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience In A Data Science Role.

  • Experience With Poi Evaluation: The Data Science Manager Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Points Of Interest (Poi) Data And Be Able To Develop And Implement Evaluation Strategies To Ensure The Accuracy And Relevance Of Poi Data For Apple Maps.

  • Proficiency In Programming Languages: The Candidate Should Be Proficient In Programming Languages Such As Python, R, And Sql. They Should Also Have Experience With Data Manipulation, Statistical Analysis, And Machine Learning Algorithms.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Data Science Manager Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Using Data To Solve Complex Problems And Make Data-Driven Decisions. They Should Also Have Experience With Data Visualization Tools And Techniques.

  • Leadership And Project Management Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Managing A Team Of Data Scientists And Overseeing Multiple Projects Simultaneously. They Should Also Have Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills To Work With Cross-Functional Teams.
