  1. Develop and implement disaster risk reduction strategies and plans for the community in collaboration with local stakeholders and partners.
  2. Facilitate and lead trainings and workshops on disaster preparedness, response, and recovery for community members and organizations.
  3. Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities in the community.
  4. Work closely with local government agencies, first responders, and community leaders to ensure effective coordination and communication during emergencies.
  5. Act as a liaison between the American Red Cross and the community, providing updates, resources, and support before, during, and after disasters.
  6. Collaborate with other Community Disaster Risk Reduction Coordinators and Red Cross teams to share best practices and ensure consistency in disaster preparedness efforts.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, businesses, and volunteers to support disaster risk reduction initiatives.
  8. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of disaster risk reduction programs and make recommendations for improvements.
  9. Serve as a spokesperson for the American Red Cross in the community, promoting disaster preparedness and response efforts.
  10. Stay current on disaster risk reduction trends and practices, and utilize this knowledge to inform and improve program strategies.
  11. Manage and maintain data and records related to disaster risk reduction activities and outcomes.
  12. Uphold the values and mission of the American Red Cross and represent the organization in a professional and ethical manner.
  13. Respond to disasters as needed, providing support and resources to affected communities.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Health, Or A Related Field

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Disaster Preparedness And Response, Preferably In A Community Setting

  • Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Emergency Management Policies And Procedures

  • Strong Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Engage And Train Community Members On Disaster Risk Reduction Strategies

  • Experience In Project Management And Grant Writing, With The Ability To Secure Funding For Disaster Preparedness Initiatives In The Community
