  1. Provide compassionate and dedicated nursing care to patients in the Medicine EP 9-5 - Infectious Disease department at Yale New Haven Health System.
  2. Utilize strong background in infectious disease management to effectively assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  4. Prioritize and manage multiple patients, treatments, and procedures in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  5. Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation and records.
  6. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and procedures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
  7. Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment plans, and medications.
  8. Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in infectious disease management.
  9. Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide comprehensive and coordinated care.
  10. Demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality and evidence-based care to patients.
  11. Adhere to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice.
  12. Act as a patient advocate and address any concerns or needs that may arise.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn Licensure: The First Qualification For A Rn In The Infectious Disease Department At Yale New Haven Health System Is A Valid And Active Rn License In The State Of Connecticut.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Is Preferred For This Position As It Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practice.

  • Experience In Infectious Disease: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In The Field Of Infectious Disease Is Required For This Position. This Ensures The Rn Has A Strong Understanding Of The Unique Challenges And Treatments Associated With This Specialty.

  • Bls And Acls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Required For This Position. These Certifications Demonstrate The Rn's Ability To Respond To Emergency Situations And Provide Critical Care.

  • Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: Effective Communication And Critical Thinking Are Essential For A Rn In This Role As They Will Be Working With A Diverse Team Of Healthcare Professionals And Patients With Complex Medical Conditions. The Ability To Think Critically And Make Sound Decisions Is Crucial For Providing High-Quality Care.
