Are you a passionate and dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in Pediatric Gastrointestinal (GI) care? Are you looking for an opportunity to lead and coordinate care for pediatric patients with gastrointestinal disorders? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a RN-Pediatric GI Nurse Coordinator at Yale New Haven Health System. As a coordinator, you will play a vital role in the care of our young patients by providing excellent clinical expertise, coordinating care plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.   1. Provide expert clinical care and support for pediatric patients with gastrointestinal disorders.
  2. Coordinate and oversee the care plans for pediatric patients with GI disorders.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  4. Act as a resource and provide guidance to healthcare team members in regards to pediatric GI care.
  5. Utilize evidence-based practice and current research to implement best practices in pediatric GI care.
  6. Assess, monitor, and evaluate patient progress and make necessary adjustments to care plans.
  7. Educate patients and their families on their condition, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
  8. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
  9. Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure effective communication and understanding of care plans.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  11. Stay updated on advancements and developments in pediatric GI care and integrate into practice.
  12. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and sensitivity towards pediatric patients and their families.
  13. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards related to patient care.
  14. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment among healthcare team members.
  15. Act as a role model and mentor for other nurses and healthcare professionals.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn License: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid And Active Rn License In The State Of Connecticut.

  • Pediatric Gi Experience: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Pediatric Gi Nurse, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.

  • Leadership Skills: The Candidate Must Possess Strong Leadership Skills To Effectively Coordinate And Lead A Team Of Nurses And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Knowledge Of Gi Disorders: The Candidate Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Gastrointestinal Disorders In Pediatric Patients, Including Assessment, Treatment, And Management.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Essential For This Role As The Nurse Coordinator Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Families, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
