- Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to pediatric patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to assess and monitor patients' conditions and make appropriate nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for pediatric patients.
- Administer medications and treatments to pediatric patients according to established protocols.
- Monitor and document patients' vital signs, progress, and response to treatments.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and protocols related to patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain patient safety standards.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
- Stay updated on current trends, developments, and advancements in pediatric nursing.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during difficult times.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate and facilitate patient transfers and discharges.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice.
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education programs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Serve as a role model for junior nursing staff.
- Demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager or other healthcare leaders.
Current And Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Connecticut.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Institution.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Pediatric Icu Setting.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certification.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals) Certification.
