- Conduct high-quality sleep studies: The Polysomnographic Tech will be responsible for performing and monitoring sleep studies on patients, ensuring that all procedures are conducted accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain equipment: This role requires the Tech to properly set up and maintain all sleep study equipment, ensuring that it is in good working condition for each patient.
- Monitor patient safety: The Tech will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the safety of patients undergoing sleep studies, including responding to any emergencies or complications that may arise.
- Educate patients: The successful candidate will be responsible for educating patients on the sleep study process, including what to expect and how to prepare for their study.
- Document and report findings: The Tech will be required to accurately document and report all findings from sleep studies, including any abnormalities or concerns that may arise.
- Collaborate with healthcare team: This role requires the Tech to work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Adhere to protocols and standards: The Tech will be expected to follow all protocols and standards set by Yale New Haven Health System, as well as any industry and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality: The successful candidate must adhere to strict confidentiality protocols, ensuring the privacy and security of all patient information.
- Continually improve skills and knowledge: This role requires a commitment to ongoing learning and development, staying up-to-date with new technologies and techniques in the field of sleep medicine.
- Provide exceptional patient care: Above all, the Polysomnographic Tech will be responsible for providing exceptional and compassionate care to all patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the sleep study process.
Current Certification: A Polysomnographic Tech At Yale New Haven Health System Must Hold A Current Certification From The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt).
Bachelor's Degree: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field, Such As Physiology, Psychology, Or Healthcare, Is Required For This Position.
Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience As A Polysomnographic Tech, Preferably In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.
Knowledge Of Sleep Disorders: A Thorough Understanding Of Various Sleep Disorders, Including Their Causes, Symptoms, And Treatment Options, Is Essential For This Role.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Necessary For This Job As The Polysomnographic Tech Will Be Interacting With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis.
