If so, then we have the perfect job for you! Yale New Haven Health System is seeking a Pediatric Critical Care Flight Paramedic to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical care and transportation to pediatric patients in need.   1. Provide emergency medical care to critically ill pediatric patients during air transport.
  2. Perform advanced medical procedures and interventions in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  3. Monitor and assess patient vital signs and response to treatment, adjusting care as needed.
  4. Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals and relay patient information to receiving facilities.
  5. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and transport.
  6. Ensure the safety and comfort of pediatric patients during transport, including proper use of specialized equipment and medications.
  7. Collaborate with the flight crew and ground EMS personnel to ensure seamless care and safe transport.
  8. Stay current on pediatric critical care practices and procedures, attending training and continuing education as required.
  9. Maintain all necessary certifications and licenses required for the position.
  10. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including proper use and maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of excellence within the team.
  12. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during transport.
  13. Serve as a role model and mentor to other team members, promoting a culture of teamwork and professionalism.
  14. Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make quick, sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
  15. Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Paramedic Certification: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid Paramedic Certification From An Accredited Institution And Be Licensed To Practice In The State Of Connecticut.

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals) Certification: The Candidate Must Possess A Current Pals Certification From The American Heart Association Or The American Red Cross.

  • Critical Care Transport Certification: The Candidate Must Have A Current Certification In Critical Care Transport (Cct) From A Recognized Organization, Such As The Board For Critical Care Transport Paramedic Certification (Bcctpc).

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Pediatric Critical Care: The Candidate Must Have A Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience Working In A Pediatric Critical Care Setting, Such As A Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (Picu) Or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu).

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills, As They Will Be Working Closely With A Multidisciplinary Team Of Healthcare Professionals In A High-Stress Environment. They Must Also Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Caregivers During Critical Situations.
