- Provide compassionate and high-quality care to patients in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including feeding, bathing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
- Assist with clinical procedures, such as wound care, catheter insertion, and specimen collection.
- Ensure patient safety by following infection control measures and maintaining a clean and organized patient environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to provide optimal care and address any concerns or questions.
- Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain knowledge of current healthcare practices and procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Patient Care Technician At Yale New Haven Health System Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge To Handle The Responsibilities Of The Job.
Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Candidates With A Cna Certification Are Preferred For This Role As It Demonstrates Their Proficiency In Basic Nursing Skills, Such As Taking Vital Signs, Bathing, And Feeding Patients. This Certification Also Ensures That The Candidate Has Completed A State-Approved Training Program And Has Passed A Competency Exam.
Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Long-Term Care Facility, Is Highly Desirable For A Patient Care Technician Position At Yale New Haven Health System. This Experience Shows That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Demands And Challenges Of A Healthcare Environment And Can Adapt Quickly.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: A Bls Certification Is Required For All Patient Care Technicians At Yale New Haven Health System. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Is Trained In Basic Life-Saving Techniques, Such As Cpr And First Aid, Which Are Crucial In Emergency Situations.
