  1. Provide compassionate and dedicated care to mothers and their newborn babies.
  2. Utilize specialized skills and knowledge in maternal child health to provide exceptional patient care.
  3. Advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard.
  4. Continuously strive to improve the quality of care provided to patients.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  6. Monitor and assess the health of mothers and newborns, identifying and addressing any potential complications.
  7. Educate mothers and families on postpartum care and newborn care, including breastfeeding and infant safety.
  8. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  9. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  11. Maintain a safe and clean working environment for patients and staff.
  12. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on best practices and advancements in maternal child health.
  13. Serve as a role model and mentor for other healthcare team members.
  14. Promote and maintain a positive and professional work culture.
  15. Uphold the mission and values of Yale New Haven Health System.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn License With A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Maternal Child Health Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.

  • Certification In Maternal Newborn Nursing (Rnc-Mnn) Or Pediatric Nursing (Rnc-Nic) Preferred.

  • Bls And Nrp Certifications Required, With Additional Certifications In Acls And Pals Preferred.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Provide Compassionate And Comprehensive Care To Mothers And Infants.
