- Provide specialized care to patients in the ICU with a focus on meeting their complex medical needs.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs, and promptly report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, following all safety protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient progress and ensure accurate and timely record-keeping.
- Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations and provide critical care as needed.
- Stay current with the latest developments and trends in critical care nursing and continuously update knowledge and skills.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care at all times.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by effectively communicating and collaborating with colleagues and other healthcare team members.
- Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and respect for patients and their families, providing emotional support as needed.

Current Rn License In The State Of Connecticut: An Icu Registered Nurse At Yale New Haven Health System Must Have A Valid And Active Rn License In The State Of Connecticut.
Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Bsn Degree From An Accredited Nursing Program.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Icu Experience: Yale New Haven Health System Requires Candidates To Have At Least 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In An Icu Setting.
Bls And Acls Certification: Candidates Must Possess Current Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications.
Critical Care Certification (Ccrn): A Ccrn Certification Is Preferred But Not Required For The Icu Registered Nurse Position At Yale New Haven Health System.
