- Verify insurance coverage for patients and obtain necessary authorizations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely financial clearance.
- Utilize knowledge of insurance policies and medical terminology to accurately assess patient coverage and potential financial responsibilities.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as billing and coding, to ensure proper documentation and billing procedures.
- Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in insurance coverage or authorization processes.
- Work closely with patients to explain insurance coverage and potential out-of-pocket expenses.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in insurance policies and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and other stakeholders.
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures to maintain efficiency and accuracy in financial clearance processes.
- Assist in training new team members and provide ongoing support to colleagues.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to improve processes and enhance patient experience.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of financial clearance processes.
- Participate in meetings and trainings to stay informed about company policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management, Preferably In A Financial Clearance Role.
Knowledge Of Insurance Verification Processes, Including Medicare, Medicaid, And Commercial Insurance Plans.
Proficiency In Electronic Health Record Systems And Billing Software, Such As Epic Or Cerner.
Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Interact With Patients, Insurance Companies, And Healthcare Providers.
