Job Description

  1. Provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, dynamic emergency department setting.
  2. Assist with patient care tasks such as taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and preparing patients for procedures.
  3. Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in high-stress situations.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure efficient operation of the unit.
  6. Monitor and restock medical supplies and equipment.
  7. Document patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
  8. Follow all safety protocols and infection control measures.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain knowledge and skills in emergency care.
  11. Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families.
  12. Uphold the values and mission of Yale New Haven Health System.
  13. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
  14. Provide support to other departments and staff as needed.
  15. Actively contribute to creating a positive and supportive work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent.

  • Ability To Multitask And Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.

  • Completion Of A Certified Emergency Medical Technician (Emt) Training Program.

  • Current Emt Certification And Bls Certification.

  • Minimum Of 1 Year Experience Working As An Emt In An Emergency Department Or Ambulance Service.
