- Prepare and serve high-quality and nutritious meals to patients in a timely manner.
- Follow all dietary guidelines and restrictions for patients, ensuring their specific needs are met.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including proper handling and storage of food.
- Collaborate with other dietary staff to ensure efficient and effective meal service.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families to address any dietary concerns or preferences.
- Monitor patient food intake and report any issues to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to safety and sanitation protocols to prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure a safe dining experience for patients.
- Complete assigned tasks and duties in a timely and efficient manner to support the overall functioning of the dietary department.
- Assist with the inventory and restocking of supplies to ensure an adequate supply of food and equipment at all times.
- Attend departmental meetings and training sessions to stay updated on dietary guidelines and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patients’ dietary needs are met and to promote their overall health and wellbeing.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including confidentiality and patient privacy regulations.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and provide suggestions to enhance the dietary program.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Dietary Aide Position At Yale New Haven Health System Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge To Perform Job Duties Effectively.
Food Service Experience: Prior Experience In A Food Service Or Kitchen Setting Is Highly Desirable For A Dietary Aide Job At Yale New Haven Health System. This Can Include Experience In A Restaurant, Cafeteria, Or Other Healthcare Facility.
Knowledge Of Food Safety And Sanitation: As A Dietary Aide, It Is Important To Have A Strong Understanding Of Food Safety And Sanitation Guidelines. This Includes Proper Food Handling, Storage, And Cleaning Procedures To Maintain A Safe And Healthy Environment For Patients And Staff.
