- Greet and welcome patients and their families to the facility, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere
- Assist Diagnostic Imaging Technologists in preparing and positioning patients for imaging procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff
- Transport patients to and from imaging rooms and ensure their comfort and safety during the process
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain proper sanitation of equipment and supplies
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have
- Demonstrate proficiency in operating imaging equipment and assist in troubleshooting any technical issues
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure timely and accurate completion of imaging procedures
- Attend trainings and seminars to stay updated on new procedures and technologies in diagnostic imaging
- Uphold the mission and values of Yale New Haven Health System and promote a positive work culture.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Diagnostic Imaging Tech Aide At Yale New Haven Health System Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Level Of Education And Are Able To Understand And Follow Instructions.
Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates Should Have Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Diagnostic Imaging Department. This Experience Will Give Them A Basic Understanding Of The Equipment And Procedures Used In This Role, As Well As Familiarity With Patient Care Protocols.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Anatomy: A Strong Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Anatomy Is Essential For A Diagnostic Imaging Tech Aide. This Includes Understanding Common Medical Abbreviations, As Well As The Anatomical Structures And Systems That Are Imaged During Diagnostic Procedures.
Excellent Communication Skills: As A Diagnostic Imaging Tech Aide, Candidates Will Be Required To Communicate With Patients, Staff, And Physicians On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills Are A Must. Candidates Should Be Able To Effectively Convey Information, Listen Actively, And Maintain Confidentiality.
Basic Computer Skills: With The Increasing Use Of Technology In Healthcare, It Is Important For A Diagnostic Imaging Tech Aide To Have Basic Computer Skills. This Includes Proficiency In Microsoft Office, As Well As The Ability To Navigate Electronic Medical Records And Imaging Software.
