- Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of mental health needs for pediatric patients in the emergency department.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments and treatment goals.
- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and document patient progress and response to treatments.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and provide a holistic approach to treatment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to provide education and support.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in pediatric mental health care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as legal and ethical standards.
- Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities.
- Attend trainings and seminars to further develop skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality care to all patients.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Institution.
Current Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Connecticut.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Pediatric Psychiatric Nursing.
Certification In Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals) And Crisis Prevention Intervention (Cpi).
Knowledge And Understanding Of Evidence-Based Practices In Pediatric Mental Health Care And Experience Working With Children And Adolescents With Mental Health Disorders.
