  1. Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff at Yale New Haven Health System.
  2. Offer compassionate and empathetic care to individuals of all faiths and backgrounds.
  3. Assist patients and families in dealing with the spiritual and emotional aspects of their healthcare journey.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare teams to address the holistic needs of patients.
  5. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for individuals seeking spiritual guidance and support.
  6. Facilitate religious rituals, ceremonies, and services for patients and families as needed.
  7. Offer counseling and guidance to patients and families during difficult times.
  8. Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and religious/spiritual communities.
  9. Document all interactions and interventions in patient records in a timely and accurate manner.
  10. Continuously engage in professional development and education to enhance chaplaincy skills and knowledge.
  11. Adhere to ethical and confidentiality standards in all interactions and interventions.
  12. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to provide insight and support from a spiritual perspective.
  13. Contribute to the spiritual care program at Yale New Haven Health System through innovative ideas and initiatives.
  14. Act as a representative of the organization and uphold its values and mission.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree In Divinity Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution.

  • Completion Of A Clinical Pastoral Education (Cpe) Program, Preferably Through The Association For Clinical Pastoral Education (Acpe).

  • Ordination Or Endorsement For Ministry By A Recognized Faith Group.

  • Previous Experience Working As A Chaplain In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.

  • Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Provide Spiritual Care To Patients, Families, And Staff Of Diverse Backgrounds And Beliefs.
