  1. Provide high-quality and compassionate care to patients recovering from acute injuries and conditions.
  2. Assess patients' physical condition and develop individualized treatment plans.
  3. Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other interventions to improve patients' strength and mobility.
  4. Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  5. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  6. Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques to continue their recovery at home.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, progress, and treatment plans.
  8. Follow all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  9. Stay up-to-date on current best practices and evidence-based treatments in acute care physical therapy.
  10. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  11. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care.
  12. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  13. Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional attitude, promoting teamwork and collaboration within the healthcare team.
  15. Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs are met and their treatment goals are achieved.

Job Qualifications
  • A Doctor Of Physical Therapy (Dpt) Degree From An Accredited Program: Candidates Must Have Completed A Doctor Of Physical Therapy Degree From An Accredited Program Recognized By The Commission On Accreditation In Physical Therapy Education (Capte).

  • State Licensure: Candidates Must Hold A Valid Physical Therapy License In The State Of Connecticut. This License Must Be In Good Standing And Without Any Disciplinary Actions.

  • Prior Experience In Acute Care: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Physical Therapist In An Acute Care Setting. This Experience Should Include Working With Patients With A Wide Range Of Conditions And Injuries.

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practice: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Evidence-Based Practice And Be Able To Apply It In Their Treatment Plans. This Includes Staying Current With New Research And Techniques In The Field Of Physical Therapy.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: Acute Care Physical Therapists At Yale New Haven Health System Work Closely With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Candidates Should Have Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills To Effectively Collaborate With This Team And Provide The Best Care For Patients.
