As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our core mail platform used by millions of users worldwide.   1. Design and develop new features and functionalities for Yahoo's core mail platform.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex technical challenges.
  3. Maintain and improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of the core mail platform.
  4. Utilize best practices and coding standards to ensure high-quality software development.
  5. Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in software engineering.
  6. Mentor and guide junior engineers in the team.
  7. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality.
  8. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  9. Ensure compliance with security and privacy standards.
  10. Collaborate with product managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  11. Continuously optimize and improve existing codebase to enhance user experience.
  12. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates on project progress.
  13. Contribute to the overall technical strategy and roadmap of the Core Mail Backend department.
  14. Proactively identify and suggest improvements to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
  15. Act as a subject matter expert in software engineering and provide guidance on technical decisions.

Job Qualifications

  • Proficient In Programming Languages: A Senior Software Engineer In Core Mail Backend At Yahoo! Should Possess A Strong Understanding And Expertise In Programming Languages Such As Java, C++, And Python.

  • Extensive Experience With Email Protocols: The Ideal Candidate Should Have In-Depth Knowledge And Experience In Working With Email Protocols Such As Imap, Pop, And Smtp.

  • Knowledge Of Database Management: A Senior Software Engineer In Core Mail Backend Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Database Management Systems, Such As Mysql, Oracle, And Nosql Databases.

  • Experience In Designing And Developing Scalable Systems: The Role Requires The Candidate To Have A Strong Background In Designing And Developing Highly Scalable Systems That Can Handle A Large Volume Of Data And Users.

  • Familiarity With Devops Principles: In Addition To Technical Skills, A Senior Software Engineer In Core Mail Backend Should Also Be Proficient In Devops Principles And Tools, Such As Docker, Kubernetes, And Ci/Cd Pipelines, To Ensure Efficient Deployment And Continuous Integration Of Software Updates.
