- Develop and maintain strong knowledge and understanding of detection techniques and tools.
- Monitor and analyze security events and data to identify potential threats and attacks.
- Collaborate with other members of the Paranoids team to implement effective detection strategies and processes.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and coordinate with other teams to remediate any identified vulnerabilities.
- Stay updated on the latest security trends and techniques to continuously improve detection capabilities.
- Participate in incident response activities, including investigating and containing security incidents.
- Create and maintain documentation related to detection processes and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate response to security incidents.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of security tools and systems.
- Mentor and train junior members of the team to develop their skills and knowledge in detection techniques.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with external security partners and vendors to enhance detection capabilities.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours incident response.
- Identify and recommend improvements to existing detection processes and procedures.
- Proactively identify potential security risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Represent the Paranoids team in cross-functional meetings and discussions related to security.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in a professional manner.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the overall security posture of Yahoo! and its users.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the management.
Extensive Experience In Threat Detection And Remediation: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Background In Cybersecurity And A Proven Track Record Of Detecting And Mitigating Various Types Of Threats, Including But Not Limited To Malware, Insider Threats, And Advanced Persistent Threats.
Knowledge Of Multiple Detection Tools And Techniques: The Candidate Should Be Well-Versed In A Variety Of Detection Tools And Techniques, Such As Intrusion Detection Systems, Endpoint Security Solutions, Threat Intelligence Platforms, And Network Traffic Analysis Tools. They Should Also Be Able To Adapt And Learn New Tools Quickly.
In-Depth Understanding Of Emerging Threats And Attack Vectors: The Candidate Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of The Current Threat Landscape, Including Emerging Threats And Attack Vectors. They Should Stay Updated On The Latest Security Trends And Have The Ability To Anticipate Potential Threats To Yahoo!'S Systems And Infrastructure.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: A Paranoids Senior Detection Engineer Should Have Excellent Analytical Skills And Be Able To Think Critically To Identify And Analyze Complex Threats And Security Incidents.
