
Fantasy Sports Backend Engineer
Yahoo Sports is looking for a self-motivated, hands-on software engineer who loves sports. The engineer will be responsible for developing web services and other backend systems that will power Yahoo Fantasy Sports and many parts of the Yahoo network. Working in Yahoo Sports is an adventure in delivering first class experiences across multiple devices at a scale you won’t find anywhere else on the planet. Our continuous integration platform allows us to automatically test and release code several times a day. It’s fun finishing a feature and seeing it live with millions of users an hour later.
2-5 years experience in software development using Java, PHP, or Perl.
Good knowledge of OOP and software design patterns and where and when to use them.
Ability to estimate, plan and execute work on time and with high quality.
Passion for the Sports Industry and a passion for delivering products that our users simply cannot live without.
Working knowledge and experience with Linux/UNIX.
