In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products within our organization. - Manage Shipping and Receiving Processes: The Shipping & Receiving specialist will be responsible for managing all shipping and receiving processes within the organization. This includes receiving incoming materials and products, preparing shipments for outgoing orders, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Maintain Inventory: This individual will be in charge of maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring that all materials and products are properly stored and accounted for. This includes conducting regular inventory counts and reconciling any discrepancies.
- Coordinate with Suppliers and Carriers: The Shipping & Receiving specialist will be the primary point of contact for suppliers and carriers, communicating shipment details and tracking shipments to ensure on-time delivery. They will also be responsible for resolving any issues or delays that may arise.
- Ensure Compliance: It is the responsibility of the Shipping & Receiving specialist to ensure that all shipping and receiving processes are in compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as any industry regulations.
- Monitor Quality Control: This individual will be responsible for monitoring the quality of incoming and outgoing materials and products, ensuring that they meet company standards and specifications.
- Maintain Shipping and Receiving Records: The Shipping & Receiving specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all shipments, including tracking information, delivery confirmations, and any relevant documentation.
- Troubleshoot Issues: In the event of any issues or delays with shipments, the Shipping & Receiving specialist will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving the problem in a timely and efficient manner to minimize disruptions to the business.
- Collaborate with Other Departments: This individual will work closely with other departments, such as production, sales, and customer service, to ensure that all shipping and receiving needs are met and to address any cross-functional issues that may arise.
- Continuously Improve Processes: The Shipping & Receiving specialist will be expected to constantly evaluate and improve shipping and receiving processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Shipping & Receiving Job At Westrock Is A High School Diploma Or Ged. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Level Of Education And Can Effectively Communicate And Understand Instructions.
Previous Experience In Shipping And Receiving: Candidates With Previous Experience In A Shipping And Receiving Role Will Have A Better Understanding Of The Processes And Procedures Involved. This Experience Can Also Demonstrate Their Ability To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job And Their Attention To Detail.
Forklift Certification: Many Shipping And Receiving Jobs At Westrock Require The Use Of Forklifts To Move And Load Materials. Having A Valid Forklift Certification Shows That The Candidate Has Received Proper Training And Is Qualified To Safely Operate This Equipment.
Knowledge Of Safety Protocols: Working In A Shipping And Receiving Role At Westrock Can Involve Handling Heavy Machinery And Potentially Hazardous Materials. It Is Important For Candidates To Have Knowledge Of Safety Protocols And Be Able To Follow Them To Prevent Accidents And Injuries.
