Finishing Material Handler

- Receive and review production orders to determine the specific packaging materials needed for each job.
- Prepare, organize, and stage materials for the finishing process according to production schedule.
- Operate various equipment and machinery to cut, trim, fold, and label packaging materials.
- Monitor and maintain quality control standards throughout the finishing process, checking for defects and ensuring accuracy.
- Collaborate with production team to ensure timely completion of orders and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the finishing process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols and company policies at all times.
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed.
- Keep accurate records of materials used and production output.
- Continuously identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Train and mentor new team members as needed.
- Communicate effectively with other departments and management to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety standards and attendance requirements.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Finishing Material Handler At Westrock Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures Basic Literacy And Numeracy Skills Necessary For The Job.
Experience In Material Handling: Prior Experience In Material Handling, Preferably In A Manufacturing Or Warehouse Setting, Is Highly Desirable For This Role. This Includes Knowledge Of Operating Forklifts And Other Material Handling Equipment.
Physical Fitness And Stamina: The Job Of A Finishing Material Handler Involves Lifting, Moving, And Stacking Heavy Materials, Often In A Fast-Paced Environment. Therefore, Candidates Should Possess Physical Fitness And Stamina To Perform These Tasks Efficiently.
Attention To Detail: A Finishing Material Handler Is Responsible For Maintaining Inventory Levels And Ensuring The Quality Of Materials Used In Production. Attention To Detail Is Crucial In This Role To Prevent Errors And Ensure Accuracy.
