Job Description

Westar Energy is seeking an experienced Operations Compliance Analyst to join our team and help ensure our compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who is able to take initiative and work independently. The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of energy compliance regulations, excellent communication skills, and experience in an energy operations or compliance role. The Operations Compliance Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the activities of Westar Energy, and for identifying and addressing any compliance risks. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong commitment to compliance and regulatory oversight.Required qualifications include: • Bachelor's degree in a related field• 5+ years of experience in a compliance or energy operations role• In-depth knowledge of energy compliance regulations• Excellent communication and organizational skills• Ability to take initiative and work independently• Ability to identify and address compliance risks

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and evaluate Westar Energy's activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  2. Assist in developing and implementing processes and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
  3. Identify and address any compliance risks.
  4. Create and maintain compliance-related documentation.
  5. Research new and existing rules and regulations related to energy compliance.
  6. Maintain communication with senior management and other departments to ensure compliance.
  7. Liaise with external stakeholders such as government agencies, regulatory bodies and industry groups.
  8. Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance matters.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with external regulatory bodies.
  10. Participate in audits and investigations.
