Fleet Mechanic Journeyman

Westar Energy is seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic Journeyman to join our team. We are looking for an individual with a passion for mechanics who can provide experience and expertise in the repair and maintenance of our fleet of vehicles. In this role, the ideal candidate will have a combination of mechanical aptitude, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills that will enable them to diagnose and repair a variety of vehicles with accuracy and efficiency. The successful candidate must possess a Journeyman Mechanic License/Certification as well as a valid driver's license. A working knowledge of automotive and truck systems, as well as a basic understanding of electricity, computers, and electronics is also required. Attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work independently are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

1. Diagnose and repair a variety of vehicles with accuracy and efficiency.
2. Utilize mechanical aptitude, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills.
3. Maintain and repair fleet of vehicles.
4. Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles, as needed.
5. Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
6. Keep records of all work completed on vehicles.
7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
8. Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and supervisors.
9. Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Possess a Journeyman Mechanic License/Certification and a valid driver's license.
11. Have a working knowledge of automotive and truck systems, as well as a basic understanding of electricity, computers, and electronics.
12. Adhere to all Westar Energy policies and procedures.
