Combustion Turbine Technician

Westar Energy is looking for an experienced Combustion Turbine Technician to join our team. This position requires an individual with a combination of technical knowledge and hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of combustion turbines and related systems. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a passion for the industry, and the drive to help ensure Westar Energy's success.To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a minimum of five years of experience in the operation and maintenance of combustion turbines, power plant operations and systems, and other related systems. A valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or equivalent is also required. A college degree in engineering or a related field is preferred. The ideal candidate will also possess strong problem-solving and communication skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities for this role include:

• Monitor and maintain combustion turbines and related systems

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with combustion turbines

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on combustion turbines

• Provide technical support to personnel regarding combustion turbine operations

• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures

• Assist in the development and implementation of new or improved operating and maintenance procedures

• Monitor performance of combustion turbines and related systems

• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities

• Communicate and interact effectively with other personnel, customers, and vendors

• Perform other duties as assigned
