As an integral part of our security team, the Armed Response Officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our employees, property, and facilities. The ideal candidate will have a valid armed guard license, excellent communication and customer service skills, and experience in armed response. The individual must also have a valid driver's license and the ability to pass a background check. In addition, the Armed Response Officer must be able to work independently and take initiative in the face of potential threats. Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and respond to security threats on Westar Energy’s property and facilities
2. Ensure the safety and security of employees and customers
3. Maintain a valid armed guard license and driver’s license
4. Utilize excellent communication and customer service skills
5. Remain calm and take initiative in potentially threatening situations
6. Monitor surveillance systems and inspect doors, windows, and other areas to ensure security
7. Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances
8. Report suspicious activity and potential threats
9. Provide written reports regarding security incidents
10. Perform periodic patrols of Westar Energy’s premises
