As the Labor and Employment Counsel, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our company is in compliance with all labor and employment laws and regulations. We are looking for a motivated and dedicated individual who can provide expert legal counsel and guidance to our HR department and management team.   1. Develop and implement company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all labor and employment laws and regulations.
  2. Conduct regular audits and reviews of company practices to identify any potential legal risks and provide recommendations for corrective action.
  3. Provide legal advice and counsel to HR department and management team on employment-related matters, including hiring, termination, benefits, discrimination, and harassment.
  4. Stay up-to-date on changes in labor and employment laws and regulations and advise the company on any necessary adjustments to policies and practices.
  5. Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  6. Represent the company in legal proceedings related to labor and employment matters, including discrimination claims, wage and hour disputes, and labor union negotiations.
  7. Train HR department and management team on labor and employment laws and regulations to ensure understanding and compliance.
  8. Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed to provide comprehensive legal support and guidance.
  9. Oversee and manage any investigations into employee complaints or grievances related to labor and employment issues.
  10. Develop and maintain positive relationships with relevant government agencies and other external stakeholders.
  11. Serve as a trusted advisor to the company on labor and employment law matters, offering strategic and proactive solutions to mitigate risks and promote a positive work culture.
  12. Communicate and explain complex legal concepts and information to non-legal stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Job Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Practicing Labor And Employment Law, Preferably In A Corporate Or Transportation Industry Setting.

  • Strong Understanding And Knowledge Of Federal And State Labor And Employment Laws, Including But Not Limited To Title Vii, Ada, Fmla, And Flsa.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Legal Concepts To Non-Legal Colleagues.

  • Experience Representing Employers In Labor And Employment Litigation, Including Mediation And Arbitration.
