- Develop and implement strategies to promote student success and retention.
- Conduct assessments and develop personalized action plans for students to achieve their academic and personal goals.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and address the needs of students.
- Serve as a resource for students, providing information on university policies, procedures, and resources.
- Advocate for students and assist them in accessing necessary accommodations and support services.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and issues in higher education and student development theory.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation.
- Plan and facilitate workshops and presentations on various topics related to student success.
- Communicate regularly with students, families, and other stakeholders to provide updates and support.
- Participate in university committees and initiatives related to student success and well-being.
- Collaborate with other Student Services Counselors to share best practices and resources.
- Conduct outreach and recruitment efforts to ensure students are aware of available services.
- Proactively identify and address potential barriers to student success.
- Act as a liaison between students and university departments to resolve issues and concerns.
Bachelor's Degree In Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Or A Related Field.
Previous Experience Working In A Student Services Or Counseling Role.
Knowledge Of And Experience With Various Counseling Techniques And Strategies.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Diverse Groups Of Students, Faculty, And Staff.
Ability To Maintain Confidentiality And Adhere To Ethical Guidelines In Counseling Practices.
