- Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere to students, faculty, staff, and visitors of Washington State University.
- Protect and serve the campus community by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Maintain a visible presence on campus to deter crime and promote a sense of safety and security.
- Respond to emergency situations, including but not limited to, medical emergencies, criminal incidents, and natural disasters.
- Enforce all university policies and state laws in a fair and impartial manner.
- Conduct thorough and accurate investigations into reported incidents and provide timely and detailed reports.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and university departments to ensure the safety and well-being of the campus community.
- Build positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff through community policing initiatives and programs.
- Serve as a resource for members of the campus community by providing education and guidance on safety and security measures.
- Stay up-to-date on all relevant laws, regulations, and procedures related to campus law enforcement.
- Attend and actively participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrate professionalism and integrity in all interactions and represent Washington State University in a positive manner.
- Work collaboratively with other campus police officers to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police or supervisory personnel.
A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Law Enforcement Or Related Field.
Possession Of A Valid State Driver's License And Clean Driving Record.
Completion Of A Certified Police Academy And Current State Certification As A Peace Officer.
Strong Communication Skills, Including The Ability To Effectively Interact With Diverse Populations And De-Escalate Potential Conflicts.
Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws, As Well As Campus Policies And Procedures, Related To Campus Safety And Security.
