Home Health Aide

Responsibilities:

1. Provide compassionate and quality care to patients in their homes, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
2. Assist patients with basic daily tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
3. Monitor and record patient's vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respiration.
4. Administer medications and treatments as directed by the supervising nurse.
5. Assist with light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and meal preparation.
6. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
7. Communicate any changes in patient's condition to the supervising nurse.
8. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
9. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide input on patient care.
10. Adhere to all VITAS policies, procedures, and standards of care.
11. Continuously enhance skills and knowledge through ongoing training and education.
12. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
13. Follow infection control and safety protocols.
14. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for patients.
15. Uphold the mission and values of VITAS Healthcare in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
