- Oversee the admissions process for all patients entering hospice care, ensuring timely and efficient admissions and discharges.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase admissions and meet organizational goals.
- Lead and manage a team of admissions coordinators and support staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless transitions for patients and their families.
- Develop and maintain relationships with hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities to promote VITAS Healthcare and its services.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to hospice admissions.
- Develop and maintain data tracking systems to monitor admissions and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of admission documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to promote understanding and trust in VITAS Healthcare.
- Participate in the development and implementation of marketing strategies to promote VITAS Healthcare and its services.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to hospice admissions and end-of-life care.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Admissions Or Healthcare Management: A Qualified Director Of Admissions At Vitas Healthcare Should Have A Strong Background In Admissions Or Healthcare Management To Effectively Lead The Admissions Team And Understand The Complexities Of The Healthcare Industry.
Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration Or Related Field: A Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For A Director Of Admissions Position At Vitas Healthcare. This Ensures A Foundation Of Knowledge In Healthcare Systems And Management Principles.
Experience In Managing A Team: The Director Of Admissions Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Admissions Coordinators And Clinical Liaisons. Previous Experience In Team Management, Including Hiring, Training, And Performance Evaluation, Is Essential For This Role.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As The Leader Of The Admissions Team, The Director Of Admissions Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Other Departments, Build Relationships With Healthcare Providers, And Represent The Organization In A Professional Manner.
Understanding Of Regulatory Requirements And Compliance: Vitas Healthcare Is Subject To Various State And Federal Regulations, And The Director Of Admissions Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of These Requirements To Ensure Compliance In All Aspects Of The Admissions Process. This Includes Knowledge Of Medicare, Medicaid, And Other Insurance Coverage Guidelines.
